Foundation for Sustainable Families won the November $18,000 Impact Award!
What an incredible night and incredible group in the St Pete Womens Club House November 4th!
Girls Rock had the room wanting every bit and more of their mission for our community girls and took home the November Impact Award!
The mission of Girls Rock St. Pete is to empower women, girls, and gender expansive folk through fearless expression, artistic experimentation and collaboration to build confidence and leadership skills to transform ourselves and our communities. The award funds will help provide a week long POWER CAMP for Girls in 2022. Due to COVID they have not been able to hold camp for 2 years! This fund will help to revitalize the camp for 45 girls!
A Message From Girls Rock:
Girls Rock Camp St. Pete empowers girls and women through music.• We believe creative voices of all girls and women need to be amplified to create social change. • We believe girls deserve positive role models and support for their creative endeavors.• We believe girls can be anything they want to be. Our local, grassroots organization is led by a diverse crew of female-identified volunteers who create a safe space for girls to build confidence and rock out. We promote confidence through mentorship and teach girls to be allies and advocates for each other. Join us in building an inclusive community where girls can use their voices, take up space, be safe and supported.
Our last meeting was held once again at the St Petersburg Womens Club. A $12,000 Award!!! Their story is amazing and this meeting came just in time for their need. With a budget of only $5,000 annually to feed families, they couldn’t afford to buy a new commercial fridge to hold fresh food. Now they can!

Below is a message from the Beth Dillinger Foundation on how your funds will be used to feed children:
Dear 100 Women Who Care St Petersburg,
There is great need due to this pandemic, we will be using your funding to feed hungry children. We are currently feeding approximately 750 children every Friday so they will have food on the weekend. That costs $3,375 a week. I believe that number will continue to rise. After doing Nourish to Flourish for seven years now, you would not believe how children worry whether they will have food. These are elementary school kids. Once the school year ends the end of May, we will continue to provide food for children. Your funding will help to continue this program.
Nourish to Flourish, is a partnership with the 6th Circuit Public Defender's Office and the Beth Dillinger Foundation to feed chronically hungry children in our area. There are over 7,000 chronically hungry children in Pinellas County alone. A chronically hungry child is defined as a child who goes to bed hungry or who has insufficient food on the weekends. Our goal is to feed these hungry children.
